Check-In: At 4:00 PM or after on the day of arrival, please proceed to our rental office inside the Ocean Drive Beach & Golf Resort, 98 N. Ocean Blvd, North Myrtle Beach, SC, 29582. If you are using a GPS system to locate our office, please note the zip code and make sure it is entered correctly, as there are similar addresses in the area. Please know that every effort will be made to ensure your vacation rental is ready at 4 PM, however certain circumstances such as maintenance issues or special cleaning needs may require the check-in time to be extended. Early check-in is never guaranteed and entering your rental property before check-in is strictly prohibited.
Late Arrival: We offer secure after-hours check-in for all guests who will be arriving after normal business hours, provided the reservation has been PAID IN FULL. If you plan to arrive after business hours, please call our office to make arrangements to pick up your check-in package from our secure after hours check-in desk, located at the front desk of the Ocean Drive Beach & Golf Resort.
If you expect to arrive after 5:30 PM Monday through Saturday, and anytime on Sundays, you should plan to pick up your check-in package at the Ocean Drive Beach & Golf Resort, located at 98 North Ocean Boulevard, North Myrtle Beach, in the Ocean Drive Section.
Check Out: 10:00 AM or earlier on the date of departure. Please exercise courtesy to the arriving guest by adhering to the check-out time. You may be charged a fee for check out times later than 10:00 AM. If a property is not vacated by 12:00 PM, a full day’s rent will be charged to the credit card on file.
What to Bring: We are not a hotel, so please prepare as if you’re moving into an empty house. We suggest bringing paper towels, toilet tissue, kitchen trash bags, dish detergent, bar soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, hair dryers, food wrap, seasonings, board games, books, sun screen, tanning lotion, medicine, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrella and portable grill (if your rental doesn’t have a permanent grill installed).You may rent linens and bath towels through Ocean Drive Beach Rentals at an additional charge.
Linens: Some rentals automatically include a linen package, but most properties do not. Please check if linens are included at the time of reservation. You may choose to add a package at any time for an additional charge. Arrangements must be confirmed at least 14 days before arrival. Linen package includes sheets and pillowcases for all beds plus sleeper sofa (if applicable), one bath towel per guest, one bath mat per bathroom, one wash cloth per guest, and one kitchen towel. In some cases we can provide extra towels at $3 per piece but during peak rental times please plan to wash and reuse linens and towels. Towels are not to be used on the beach, and guests will be charged for missing sheets and towels.
Groceries: There are several grocery stores in the area. Bi-Lo and Kroger are located on Main Street in the Ocean Drive Section. Walmart is located on Hwy 17, three blocks north of Main St. Food Lion is located at Hwy 17 and 11th Ave North. There is a Publix near the Cherry Grove exit on Hwy 17, and Boulineau's IGA is at the corner of Ocean Blvd and Sea Mountain Hwy near the beach.
Beach Rentals: Beach chairs, rafts and other beach equipment can be rented from North Strand Beach Service. You may contact them directly at 843-272-3259. IMPORTANT: Effective April 16th, 2014, tents, cabanas and similar shading devices are no longer allowed on the beach during the summer season. Visitors to the beach may still use beach umbrellas and single-pole shading devices.
Reservations: During the summer peak rental season in North Myrtle Beach, which runs Memorial Day - Labor Day, reservations are booked on a weekly Saturday - Saturday basis. However, we can take nightly reservations of a two night minimum, within 7 days of your planned arrival. An initial payment of 50% of your base rent (plus travel insurance if selected) is due within 5 business days of booking. An immediate credit card payment is preferred, but we will also accept checks payable to Ocean Drive Beach Rentals. Checks must be received within 5 business days, made payable to Ocean Drive Beach Rentals. Your balance is due at least 30 days prior to arrival, payable by check, money order, VISA, American Express, Discover or MasterCard. Returned checks will incur a $35 bank fee for each occurrence. Absolutely no checks will be accepted on arrival, and check-in will not be granted unless the reservation has been paid in full. On reservations booked within 30 days of arrival, entire balance is due at the time of booking. Upon receipt of payment, we will email or mail a confirmation showing your rental cost and taxes.Please review this letter carefully to ensure the information, including dates and unit information, is accurate and acceptable.
Ocean Drive Beach Rentals Pricing Structure: Maid Service is mandatory on all our vacation rental properties. This is how we ensure that they will be clean and ready for your arrival. There is also a reservation fee added on to all our rentals, which will vary depending on the size of your property and length of your stay. Some fees are pro-rated for shorter stays for certain properties. Travel insurance is offered through Travel Guard at 7% of the total reservation cost. Taxes currently stand at 12%. The advertised price you see on our website is the base rent, before the addition of maid service, your reservation fee, and taxes.
Cancellations & Changes: Cancellations & Changes: You may cancel your reservation at any time by calling or writing us. You may cancel your confirmed reservation within seven (7) days of the booking date for a refund of any monies paid less a $100 cancellation fee. After seven (7) days, If you wish to cancel and chose NOT to purchase the travel insurance, refunds will be made ONLY if the original reservation is fulfilled by a subsequent rental of the same amount and payments are received in full. Payments are refunded less the $100 cancellation fee. Changes to dates and/or properties are treated the same as cancellations.
Accidental Rental Damage: Accidental damage protection is included for any damages or accidents, subject to the exclusions and limitations that occur to the premises during your rental period up to $500. Any damage or accident that is not covered under the policy will be the responsibility of the renter. This protection does not cover acts that are intentional, or due to gross negligence, willful/wanton conduct, or any cause if the guest fails to report the damage/loss before departure from the unit.
Security Deposit: Ocean Drive Beach Rentals does NOT charge a security deposit on our short-term vacation rentals. Our guests are covered up to $500 of accidental damage to the rental property. Charges will be applied to your credit card only if there are damages, missing items, excessive cleaning requirements, or unpaid balances. Cash security deposits will be refunded within 30 days less any charges on our off-season monthly rentals.
Departure Cleaning: is mandatory on all vacation rentals with Ocean Drive Beach Rentals. This is how we ensure that each unit is property cleaned and sanitized before your arrival. An additional cleaning charge will be added to your property. Prior to your departure, you are required to (1) carry out all garbage, (2) secure all doors and windows, (3) remove all items from the freezer and refrigerator, and (4) if you ordered linen with your reservation, please remove all linen from beds, and place it in the linen bag provided to you, (5) run the dishwasher and return items to their original place.
Upon Arrival: Please inspect your unit and notify us immediately of any problems or issues. Every effort will be made to ensure that your unit is clean and undamaged before your arrival. Please notify us immediately of any items that need attention to ensure these problems are taken care of immediately and that you will not be held responsible.
Please also read the Rules and Regulations that are posted in your unit. Many properties have Rules set in place by the Homeowner or Homeowner's Association, which should be posted in the unit for your information. Please be respectful and responsible in adhering to these rules.
Family Groups Only: We rent strictly to families and adults 25 and over only. Family groups are defined as parents, grandparents, children and extended family members vacationing together in one home. We do not rent to house parties and/or groups including but not limited to fraternity, high school graduation, spring break from high schools or colleges, or other non family groups, to be determined at the sole discretion of Ocean Drive Beach Rentals. ABSOLUTELY NO HOUSE PARTIES ALLOWED. Violators of this regulation will be denied occupancy and will forfeit the full rental amount. In the instance that a non-family group is found to occupy a unit, the violation of the above rules shall be grounds for an expedited eviction with no refund.
Pets: Absolutely no pets are allowed on any property, unless specifically allowed for in the description of that individual property. Any pet found in or around a property that is not notated as “pet friendly” will result in a $200 charge, immediate eviction and forfeiture of all rents. Any and all damages that result will also be charged to the credit card on file.
Lost Keys/Passes: For security reasons and lock-change expense, there will be a $40 charge for all keys not returned at departure. There will also be a charge for any gate passes, pool passes, and/or pier passes not returned to us.
Telephones: Most of our rental properties do provide telephones for local calls only. If you need a property equipped with a landline, please inquire at time of reservation. To make long distance calls, you are required to use a credit card, calling card or to call collect. If long distance charges are incurred during your stay, you will be billed $15.00 in addition to the cost of the phone call(s).
Furnishings & Cleaning: Every property is equipped with basic housekeeping items such as pillows, blankets, furniture, kitchen appliances, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, and lawn or deck furniture. The condition of the property varies depending on the age and care by the individual owner. Each rental unit is privately owned, and reflects each owner’s personal tastes. Property reserved sight unseen is represented by Agent as realistically as possible with regards to space, physical conditions and comparisons. We will be unable to make substitutions or refunds on arrival. Each tenant is expected to use the property as if it were their own, and to leave it undamaged. Specific cleaning requirements are as follows: all kitchen, cooking, eating and drinking utensils/equipment are to be cleaned and stored in their proper place. All trash must be removed from the property and placed into the proper outdoor garbage cans or dumpster site. If you chose to order a linen package, please place all linen inside of the linen bag, including the bed linens. Failure to clean property as described will result in a cleaning charge.
Pools/Exercise Facilities, Etc.: Because amenities are governed and maintained by the HOA of each individual property, Ocean Drive Beach Rentals cannot assume any responsibility for condition or availability of these amenities.
Hot Tubs: Some of our properties feature hot tubs. (Weather permitting) Hot Tubs are available year round, unless otherwise noted in the individual property description. Special risks may be involved in using hot tubs and TENANT assumes all responsibility for himself and his guests for the consequence of those risks. The chemicals used to keep hot tubs sanitary may cause fading of some swimsuits and some individuals may experience mild skin rashes. Tenant agrees to waive any claim whatsoever against Owner and/or Ocean Drive Beach Rentals for accidents or claims arising from the use of said equipment. The tenant also understands and agrees and is held liable for damages that occur to said equipment through his or his guests misuse and/or negligence.
Parking: Some accommodations do not permit motorcycles, jet skis, trailers, campers, motor homes, etc. on premises. Parking is limited to a maximum of two (2) vehicles at many properties.
Problem Resolution: If you should discover that your unit has not been cleaned or has damages, please report it to us immediately and we will make all efforts to resolve the problem. Check out time is NOT the time to inform us about problems. We cannot issue refunds for mechanical breakdowns. Ocean Drive Beach Rentals personnel or representatives shall have the right to enter the property at reasonable hours to make timely repairs or inspections. If a service call is made and entry refused, the renter will be held liable for service call fees.
Construction: We cannot make rate adjustments or offer rebates due to construction, building maintenance, road repair, etc.
Locked Closets: Most of our property owners maintain a locked area in their unit for their own personal use. These locked areas are not intended for tenants’ use. Tampering with these locks will result in extra repair charges and/or prosecution.
Rates: are based on beach location, property quality, condition, furnishings, and the number of people it will accommodate, among other things. Errors in descriptions, rates, and property amenities listed or advertised are subject to change without notice. Omissions, additions, or errors as well as changes in property bedding, furnishings, equipment, etc., shall not be the responsibility of the Agent, Owner or Printer. Errors can happen for many reasons, however, our staff works diligently to ensure the accuracy of the information offered in both printed and website material. Ocean Drive Beach Rentals reserves the right to correct any error in pricing or description on this web site.
Transfer of Property: In the event the Owner is unable to deliver said property to Tenant because of fire, eminent domain, delay in construction, lack or water/sewer, etc., Ocean Drive Beach Rentals reserves the right to transfer reservations to a comparable unit or refund advance prepayment. If Agent is able to relocate Tenant, Tenant agrees to pay the difference in rental amount, or accept a refund of all monies paid to Agent. Tenant further agrees that neither Agent nor Owner shall be responsible for any consequential or secondary damages, including but not limited to, any expense incurred as a result of moving. Every effort will be made to contact customer prior to arrival, and to offer similar, satisfactory accommodations, however, we will not be responsible if customer cannot be reached by contact information given at the time of the reservation. Tenant shall not be issued a refund due to unfavorable weather, maintenance problems, area construction, ready departure, or disruption of utility services (including phone or cable), after occupancy.
