Festivals & Events
July 4th Celebration: the 18th Annual Fireworks display at the Cherry Grove Fishing Pier is scheduled for 9 pm, Sunday, July 4. Bring a beach chair and enjoy one of the area’s best fireworks shows. The pier is located at 3500 North Ocean Boulevard in the Cherry Grove Section.
SummerFest! At Barefoot Landing: This summer-wide event held everyday from 5 to 11 pm has something to entertain everyone in the family. Enjoy fireworks over the lake each Monday night at 10:15 pm. On Wednesdays, talk a walk down the boardwalk with live animals, mascots, musicians and clowns. This parade starts at & pm at the world famous Alabama Theatre. Each night at Barefoot, be entertained and amused by jugglers, magic, stiltwalkers, mucisians and much more. The kids can get their faces painted or participate in some kids’ karaoke. Don’t miss it while you’re here on vacation!
Summer Concert Series: Enjoy an evening with your family listening to live music at beautiful McLean Park every 3rd Friday of the summer. Bring a blanket, beach chair, picnic and non-alcoholic beverages with you, or you can purchase food and drinks from the North Strand Optimist Club. Concerts are from 7 to 9 pm and are free and open to all ages.

Junior SOS: The Junior Shag Association sponsors this shag event for kids 21 and under. The cost is only $10 and includes workshops, contests, social dancing and much more. Come see and participate in the dance that made Ocean Drive famous! For information, contact Keith Dallas at 336-613-6344.
28th Annual Craftsmen’s Summer Classic Arts & Crafts Festival: Featuring original designs & work from hundreds of talented artists and craftsmen from all over the country, this festival has become a tradition along the Grand Strand and is the perfect place to get a head start on some unique and fun Holiday gifts. This three day event will be held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on August 6, 7 & 8. Friday & Saturday hours are 10-6 and Sunday 11-5.
