February 16th - February 18th: Runners, come back to the beach for the 2012 BI-LO Myrtle Beach Marathon! Ranked as "one of the 10 great winter marathons" by USA Today, this run always presents a good challenge. The event starts just north of Grissom Parkway and 21st Avenue and finishes at BB&T Coastal Field. Participants will experience the beautiful scenery and beach along a challenging, but fun, race course. Lots of great events compliment the Marathon during these two days, including the Race Expo at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center..
March 17th, Saturday (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM): Make sure you visit North Myrtle Beach during the weekend of the St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival. This Parade is the largest parade on the Grand Strand, of which includes over 100 brightly decorated floats. The parade kicks off on Main Street early in the morning and compliments the St Patrick's Day Festival, help immediately afterwards. Stick around for the rest of the day to enjoy a family-friendly celebration, with 2 stages of live entertainment, over 125 arts & crafts vendors, delicious food, and a childrens' play area. It's an event that the community and guests wait for all year long.
March 24th, Saturday (11:00 AM - 4:00 PM): Sample the best North Myrtle Beach dining options during the 5th Annual Taste of the Coast! Popular restaurant vendors will be set up at Barefoot Landing, and will be offering food tickets for $1 each. Bring the whole family to enjoy live entertainment and a huge "Kid Zone" play area for the children. Proceeds from this event go to benefit the Risen Christ Lutheran School, and will directly increase scholarship funds for students.
May 12th, Saturday (10:00 AM - 6:00 PM); & Concert Friday Night: North Myrtle Beach welcomes the Summer season with our Mayfest on Main celebration! Summer gives us just another excuse to party. Enjoy the Grand Strand's best bands. There will be various arts & crafts vendors, food vendors, and childrens' play area. All the specialty local shops that dot Main Street will be wide open for the upcoming season. You may want to catch the kickoff concert for Mayfest on Main, Friday night at 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. It is a free concert perfect for the whole family.
